ELIKA, FThe Basque Foundation for Agrofood Safety, is a body affiliated to the Basque Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (DAPA) working in the field of Agrofood Safety. Since it was created, it has adapted its functions to the new food safety policies and is currently active in:

• Evaluating agrofood risks and drafting scientific reports
• Supporting the Management of animal health and animal feedstuffs alerts
• Providing information and training to enable the productive sectors (primary sector, animal feedstuffs and the food industry) to improve their safety systems
• Informing society as a whole about agrofood safety

NEIKER-Tecnalia is a Public Company run by the Basque Government that has been a member of TECNALIA, Corporación Tecnológica since 2006. Its mission is to contribute towards economic and social development through the promotion of Technological Innovation.

Neiker-Tecnalia works from two centres, one in Arkaute (Alava) and the other in (Bizkaia), the latter situated in the Bizkaia Technological Park (Plot 812).

NEIKER-Tecnalia focuses on research and the transfer of knowledge in the agricultural and foodstuffs fields, aiming to provide added value for the agrofood industry.
